Kokanee Freedom Fridays
3 Days of Skiing For $100!!
The Ski Club and RCR presents: Kokanee Freedom Fridays: 105 bucks gets you THREE (separate) trips to Nakiska, including bus ride, lift tickets, $10 FOOD VOUCHER AND 2 FREE BEERS (do the math and that’s like $15 a day!!) Departures are at 11 in the morning so you can make it to your 8AM lab! If you want to get out for a few days to improve your skiing and riding skills, this is your chance! In Loving Memory of Eric Lahoda
On January 2nd, 2008, 22 year old, Ex-Ski Club President Eric Lahoda went Skiing at Louise. Upon returning to the lodge, after a full day of Skiing, he suffered a massive heart attack. He was quickly taken from Lake Louise to the hospital in Banff and then transported to Calgary by STARS air ambulance. Unfortunately, the damage to his brain by cause of the heart attack rendered him into a vegetative state which his chances of recovering were near impossible. On January 13, after battling for over 2 weeks Eric passed away. All of us at the UofC Ski Club are immensely saddened by the recent turn of events. Eric single handedly rebuilt the Ski Club four years ago before handing the reins over last year due to his upcoming graduation. Eric was always a loyal friend and always made time to help in whatever was asked of him. During these troubling times we ask that your thoughts and prayers go out to Eric’s family. We at the Ski Club will never forget Eric’s legacy and will always follow his example by living every day to the fullest
