Trips

Our 2011/2012 trips will be Lake Louise, Kicking Horse, Revelstoke, Fernie (NEW this year), and Kimberley. All trips include transportation, accommodation, lift tickets and free stuff/prizes from our sponsors. You must have a membership to come on a trip. All of your friends (students or not) can sign up with the club and come on the trips too.  Trips usually run at around $200-$250. If you want to see a little preview of the drunken bus rides check out these videos (mind the bad singing…):

Lake Louise (November 18th-20th, 2011)

ONLY FALL TRIP ON CAMPUS!!!

This is one of the first chances to strap on the skis or board for the 2011/2012 season. With two buses full of rowdy shenanigans and all around good times, you know you want to be on this trip! WARNING: Austrailian exchange students are notorious for camping out all night to be first in line when we sell this trip, so be sure to get here early!

SALE DATE: Tuesday Oct. 18th at 8:30am, SU Clubs Area (MSC 279)

Cost: $230 per person

Number of Spots: 112 (two buses)

Who can sign up: Ski Club members only, and you can sign up yourself and ONE friend only (to be fair to the other who also woke up at an obscene hour just to get in line)

Kicking Horse (January 13th to 15th, 2012)

The first trip of the winter semester, early enough that you shouldn’t have any assignments or studying to worry about while you’re gone (like you’ll be sober enough to worry anyway…), and plenty of fantastic pow pow to be had for all! Two nights in Golden, BC and two days skiing the always amazing Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Their new “Super Bowl” openned last season, and trust us, if you fancy yourself a good skier/rider, you DO NOT want to miss out on hitting this hill!

SALE DATE: Wednesday, November 30th @ 8:30am

COST: $240 per person, cash or cheque, full payment required up front

DATE: Friday, Jan. 13th through Sunday, Jan. 15th

WHO: You of course! You are also allowed to sign up ONE friend along with yourself

Revelstoke (February 3th-5th, 2012)

Our annual Revy Trip is one you do not want to miss! Revelstoke has the highest vertical of any resort in North America, the snow is always fantastic, and you know that 5 hour bus ride out will be legendary! Fernie Reading Week Trip (February 24th-26th, 2012)

Thanks to popular demand, we have this year decided to add a trip to Fernie Alpine Resort, and what better time to do it than the final weekend of Reading Week. The snow at this hill NEVER disappoints, and with the new Polar Peak lift opening this season, Fernie can only be described with one word: EPIC. Except that word is way too overused, so we suggest you come on the trip and decide for yourself how to describe this incredible hill.

Kimberley Spring Ski Trip (March 16th-18th, 2012)

Biggest ski party of the year, 2 days of skiing, private hot tubs, bbq’s, on-hill condos, Jag and Big Rock. This could be your last chance to hit the slopes for the 2011/2012 season. This weekend will either be a blizzard or spring skiing (T-shirts).
